Facial Gua Sha - self massage and self care

Facial Gua Sha For Female Health

Since I was a kid my mom was always encouraging me to take care of my face especially when I get older. We all know about taking care of our faces especially females. By using different products, from commercial to natural to DIY.  I do believe that diet and your environment really affect the health of the skin. It’s great to have a balanced whole food diet, good sleep, stay hydrated, be more connected with nature, exercise, and also maintain your skin with natural products. In addition, to make your face more vibrant I would like to talk about Facial Gua Sha for female health.

Gua Sha from Chinese meaning “scrapping the pain away”. Facial Gua Sha is an ancient Chinese practice that’s thought to promote the flow of Qi “chi,” or energy, in the skin. The technique involves gently scraping a tool over the neck and face.

What are the benefits of the Facial Gua Sha?!

Eliminates Toxins and Rises Qi

Well, actually the benefits from Facial Gua Sha are tremendous. Firstly, Gua Sha is massaging and releasing toxins and brings energy Qi to all the meridians on our faces. Meridians correspond to each organ of our body and most of them are located on our face:  Stomach, Bladder, Gall Bladder, Large Intestine, Small Intestine, Triple Warmer,  and also Conception and Governing Vessel. So imagine massaging the meridians with the Gua Sha will help not only your face to look vibrant but also release stagnation in the organs.

Calming and Grounding

Secondly, Gua Sha is a very calming and grounding practice. It really helps to release the stress from your body especially on your facial muscles. Additionally, if you have tendencies to tense your jaw or brows, it can help to prevent wrinkles, sometimes headaches, or pain in the jaw.

Youthful Appearance

Lastly, it uplifts the skin, making it look younger. The different edges of Gua Sha work perfectly to lift, sculpt and tighten the skin. Gua Sha works as lymphatic drainage meaning reducing accumulated fluids under your face skin such as puffiness.  Also,  Gua Sha can prevent signs of aging,  since it stimulates circulation, by bringing oxygen and blood flow to the skin cells. Which results in a lively, glowing, and youthful appearance.

To conclude,

I personally think Gua Sha is such a great tool to have in your bathroom. And honestly, it’s good for men or women too. We all need to take care of our facial health. Since we face so much stress and toxins from the outside.  In addition, with Gua Sha you can use any organic cold-pressed oils by adding essential oils or a few drops of strong teas (calendula, rosemary, lavender, burdock, rose, etc.) to massage your face.
