Small places get cluttered very easily, for example, storage, wardrobes, bathrooms. Especially if you share the bathroom with someone else. Here are some ideas on how to have a minimalist bathroom. Less is more.
My bathroom used to be stuffed with different lotions, conditions, shampoos, tonics, creams, and all sorts of skin products. After getting into minimalism I became very selective of what I buy and what’s the purpose it carries behind.
For example, I love smells I used to buy every lotion or scrub or other products that just because of the smell. Usually, I would use it for 2 months here and there, and then I would buy a new one with a different smell. And collecting the old ones on the shelves thinking next time or very soon I will use it. Well, most of the time it didn’t happen.
Also the more I had stuff on my shelves the more it was difficult to find things that I needed at that moment.
I also noticed that living in a consumerism world we have products for everything. Which forces you to buy those products. Well, honestly I do think that depending on the season and condition of the skin then you have to use different things. For example in wintertime you want to use more heavy creams and during summer lotions and sprays. But then how much of those lotions/ products do you need?!
For me personally, I practice one product at a time. I make sure I finished that one before I start/buy the other one.
Also creating your own products is very helpful by going more natural, saving money, saving bottles, and use reusable bottles/jars.
I also don’t buy big jars of lotions, shower gels, shampoos, or conditioners. The only product I buy in a full amount is vegetable soap that lasts me for a while. I can make many things from one ingredient since it’s very diverse, and it’s very good for your skin and environment.
At the moment I try to do my body care products by mixing them with different ingredients like aloe vera, magnesium, silica, oils, vitamin E and essential oils, etc.
That helps me to use my products more efficiently and not to be attached to smells so much. Most of the DIY products don’t have a strong perfumed smell. It’s mostly based on essential oils that your body – your skin can digest easily.
