Natural approach in my house

The natural approach in my house

The natural approach in my house.  My house is my extension of how to connect with nature.  Maintaining  my home clean and natural by using essential oils, natural materials, soft colors,  growing plants and herbs. And very importantly,  using  natural products not only for my body but also keeping my house and my furry friend as much natural as I can.

Natural kitchen

My Kitchen

In the kitchen, I have a lot of things since I love to cook. I have a lot of jars with herbs and teas that I buy from a local organic store. My favorite thing is to have fruits and veggies from farmers’ markets. Especially having the opportunity to pick up the fruit and smell it. I use natural materials in the kitchen like wood, bamboo, glass, and ceramic, iron-cast, steel. The place is mostly free from plastic, aluminum and toxic cleaning products.

In addition to my kitchen, I grow my own herbs such as sage, oregano, thyme, rosemary, mint, and etc. I have a lot of plants around the house. My plants use a homemade fertilizer from banana peels 🙂 Works really good! 😌

My living/sleeping room.

It’s a very simple room. I try to keep it very minimalistic so I can have more space. My room has almost no furniture. I keep my desk in a different place away from my bed so I can rest better. The space is perfect for meditation and movement and rest. My bed is very minimal. I keep it clean even under the bed there is no clutter. There is a belief if you have something under your bed or if it’s not clean, your sleep will be always disturbed. I do love my sleep! Before going to sleep I like to have my essential oils such as patchouli, lavender or the mix from doTerra “Balance”.

I also have my small altar that keeps me grounded. I keep it minimalistic with palo santo or sage to clean the area around.

My Bathroom

The bathroom is also simple. Has bright tones with plants. The products are mostly chemical-free. And most of my body care products are local and based on essential oils.

The Furry One

Moony is a very active cat. And there is a lot of fur after him. Keeping my space with less furniture helps a lot to clean the space from fur. I try to feed him with wet food only, staying away from dry food since it’s not good for cats. There is a lot of studies why but one of the reasons is the dehydration point. Since cats naturally don’t drink a lot of water, the dry food makes it even worse. When it comes to cleaning the kitty litter I try to use natural products. And the kitty litter is also chemical-free. For Moony I try to have also home-cooked food, such as pumpkin puree, mixed veggie puree, and raw cucumbers.

When it comes to supplements I try to use herbs and minerals from a holistic pet store.

ETC…

Cleaning my space is a big part of me. One of my other favorite things is to do laundry. I know not everyone likes but I do. Especially after cleaning the space and changing all the sheets into a clean one. Reminds me of my mom when she would clean each corner of the house and then when you go to sleep after the bath. The sheets smell fresh and clean. Or after a cleaning day just sit and enjoy a cup of tea.

To conclude, home is a big extension of who I am. Since I am a big nature lover, I try my best to bring it into my house on a daily basis. All those small things and routings help me to connect with nature more while living in a concrete jungle.
