A few years ago, I started to practice a raw vegan diet. Since that day I started to have smoothie bowls every morning. My very close friends know that there is no day for me without these best water-based smoothie bowls!
To be honest, it really changed my break-fast habits. I used to munch on bread goods in the mornings or heavy breakfast and feel sleepy after that. Since I started to have water-based smoothie bowls in my diet I saw a great change in my digestion, energy level, hunger, and believe or not even my sugar cravings. I usually like to make them thicker than the regular smoothies. It gives me the sensation of an actual breakfast. Usually, I add crunchy toppings such as cacao nibs, goji berries, chia seeds, granola, nuts, and others.
I always liked the idea of adding water as the base for the smoothie or fresh-squeezed juice. I rarely use non-dairy milk. One of the reasons is most of the commercial non-dairy milk products have a lot of substances in them. Personally, I don’t think it’s good for our body, like carrageenin, tapioca starch, oils, and added flavors.
So I usually stick to WATER as the base easy to digest and not to be concern about if it’s good for my body or not. The only time I use nut milk in my smoothies is when it’s homemade.
Frozen fruits. There are a lot of theories about frozen fruits and veggies if it’s good or not for you. I personally don’t like my smoothie to be cold. I usually have room temperature. One of the reasons is if you consume too cold food it reduces your “Agni” or fire in your digestive system. It means you would digest the food slower. So even if I use frozen fruits like berries or bananas and I let it sit a bit so it can be warm. Unless you want ice cream then it’s another conversation.
The first smoothie bowl that I created was Banana-Papaya-Avocado-Turmeric. One of my friend after tasting it called it a “Papaya Soup” 🙂 Even my cat Moony always tries to sneak in and try it lol
It’s very creamy because of the avocado. For this one, all you need is 1 banana, a slice of papaya or 1/2 cup of papaya cubes, a pinch of turmeric powder, and crushed pepper in order, your body could digest the turmeric. And the final ingredient is water. You can add water as much as you want depending on how thick you want your smoothie to be. I usually use 1/2 cup of water.
I recently started to add cherries to my diet. One of the reasons, cherries are great at recovering muscles after work out same as bananas. So you would need 1 cup of frozen cherries, 1 medium banana, 2 tsp of flaxseed meal, and aqua.
This recipe is very new to me. I started to incorporate greens recently in my smoothies. I really like it. In this recipe, you need 1 medium banana, 1/4 of avocado, 4 leaves of dandelion (if you put too much the smoothie can become bitter), 1/2 cup of blueberries, 1tsp of hemp seeds, 1tsp of flaxseed meal.
I do like to use supplements in my smoothies, one of them is raw Maca powder and raw Lucuma powder. The list of those two supplements goes on and on. I found about them in 2017 through that I actually found from Sevan Bomar’s youtube video. Now he has a Secret Energy platform where you can find great and useful information not only on nutrition but the Wholeness of the body, mind, soul, and universe.
You would need: 1 medium banana, 1 cup mixed berries, (raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries), 1/4 tsp maca powder, 1/4 tsp mucuna powder
Last but not least, it’s actually a very refreshing smoothie bowl. Since it has a lot of water-based ingredients banana thickens it so it becomes a really great and light smoothie bowl after a great workout or during the hot summer season. You need 1 banana, 1-2 drops of lime juice, 4 slices of pineapple, 5 medium slices of cucumber without the skin, and 1 tbsp of chia seeds. In addition, you can try to add half of the passion fruit or mint lives.
Enjoy and stay healthy!
Wholeness!!
